Job summary

SuperATV, LLC, a Dorman brand, is seeking a Buyer & Materials Planner to ensure timely planning and availability of materials for production. You will analyze data, coordinate with suppliers, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize inventory and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations and/or 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, or supply chain within manufacturing is required.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and forecasts.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel; NetStock experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Buyer & Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely planning, and availability of materials to support production, sales demand, and inventory objectives. This role leverages data analysis, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize inventory levels, maintain supply continuity, and drive operational efficiency.

Primary Duties

Materials Planning & Inventory Management

• Analyze current sales data, historical trends, and forecasts to determine material requirements, order quantities, and timing.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify products and components requiring replenishment.
• Track and report on product movement from suppliers through receipt to ensure continuity of supply.
• Support production and warehouse teams with internal product movement and inventory flow.
• Assist in developing and improving inventory control processes, tools, and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage assigned product categories, ensuring adequate supply and performance.
• Maintain and update supplier data, including pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead times.
• Communicate directly with suppliers regarding production schedules, order status, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Evaluate and identify products suitable for Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with New Product Development (NPD) teams to understand new products, components, and demand requirements.
• Support Inside Sales by providing accurate and timely information related to inventory availability and lead times.
• Work closely with operations, warehouse, and production teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.

Category & Demand Analysis

• Develop a deep understanding of assigned categories, including component-level details.
• Analyze and anticipate seasonal demand trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Monitor product performance and recommend adjustments to improve availability and reduce excess inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations and/or2–5 years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, or supply chain within manufacturing required (aftermarket or powersports industry a plus).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and forecasts.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel – NetStock experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
