Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Buyer/Purchasing professional for a permanently on-site role in Lincoln, NE. The candidate will handle direct purchasing, supplier coordination, and procurement tasks in a manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes blueprints comprehension, pricing negotiations, and effective use of procurement systems. On-site schedule typically runs 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with some flexibility.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience in a manufacturing-related environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and 2–3 years of related experience.
  • Experience in purchasing including quoting, negotiating, placing orders, expediting, and resolving quality/delivery issues.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing quality or automotive, agricultural, vehicle, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work with supply chain and purchasing software systems for ordering, tracking, and managing procurement activities.
  • Capability to read and comprehend blueprints and technical drawings to ensure purchased components meet required specifications.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with experience handling pricing, terms, and delivery discussions with suppliers.

  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing and procurement, including quoting, negotiating, placing orders, expediting, and resolving quality and delivery issues.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing quality or experience in automotive, agricultural, vehicle, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work with supply chain and purchasing software systems for ordering, tracking, and managing procurement activities.

Work Environment

This role is based entirely on-site at a manufacturing facility in Lincoln, NE, with no remote work option. The typical schedule is approximately 45 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from about 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some flexibility to adjust hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
