Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Killeen, TX is seeking a Buyer who will convert requisitions to POs, monitor deliveries, solicit quotes, and negotiate pricing to secure material availability for projects.

This onsite role supports Arizona and Texas sites with occasional travel; requires Associate degree and 1–3+ years purchasing experience; ERP/MRP experience (Dynamics 365) and strong Excel skills; CPSM/CPP preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or related field.
• 1-3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong MS Excel skills and communication abilities.
• CPSM/CPP or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders and issue them to suppliers.
• Monitor open purchase orders and track delivery schedules.

This position is responsible for managing purchase orders, negotiating supplier pricing and contracts, monitoring delivery schedules, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to drive cost-effective purchasing strategies.The Buyer partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Accounts Payable, and external suppliers to ensure material availability, resolve procurement challenges, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
