Responsibilities

• Receive quote requests from Customer Service Representatives for material needs.
• Analyze quotes and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
• Update weekly meeting totals for orders and quotes.
• Follow up on orders with vendors and verify stock needs.
• Review stock orders for proper quantities before placement.
• Track stock orders and drop shipments.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by removing low-value items and handling RMAs.
• Maintain weekly quote logs and report breakdowns.
• Review SAC102 reports before placing stock orders.
• Report discrepancies to vendors and follow up.
• Review weekly backorder reports and expedite shipping as needed.
• Promote safe working practices and report hazards.

Compensation: $47,000 - $52,000 / year

Description

The role of the Buyer is to price, quote, and purchase any required materials for the installation of fire protection systems that are currently not produced by the Company. The position analyzes cost, quality, and delivery to ensure competitive performance that is consistent with the organization’s policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives quote requests from Customer Service Representatives in an assigned territory for required materials
• Analyzes quotes and negotiates prices and terms with suppliers to obtain competitive sources with respect to cost, quality, delivery and service
• Updates weekly meetings with order and quote totals from the previous week
• Follows up on orders placed with vendors
• Analyzes and reviews stock orders for proper quantities prior to placement
• Procures tracking on all stock orders and drop shipments placed
• Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy by removing C-items and obtaining RMA’s
• Maintains weekly quote logs on all inquiries and reports the breakdown
• Analyzes and reviews the SAC102 report before placing all stock orders with vendors
• Reports all discrepancies and/or issues to the vendors in a timely manner and follows up as needed
• Reviews weekly backorder reports from vendors and expedites shipping to the warehouse
• Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
