Job summary

Century Arms is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Supply Chain Manager in procuring production, packaging, services, and supplies. The role initiates purchase orders, coordinates with engineering and quality, and ensures timely sourcing activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track supplier quality and delivery metrics.
  • Utilize competitive bidding processes to select and manage suppliers for cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Demonstrate negotiating skills with suppliers on prices and terms.
  • Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; recommend suppliers on cost, quality and delivery.
  • Organize and maintain online supplier folders recording agreements and records.
  • Ensure contractual documents reflect terms including payment and incoterms.
  • Visit supplier facilities to qualify new sources and resolve issues.
  • Maintain BOM lead times and standard costs in ERP system; implement changes.
  • Provide timely status updates to team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work with internal customers to meet procurement goals and deliver value.
  • Analyze root causes of accounts payable exceptions and resolve.
  • Assist in new sourcing/inventory strategies.
  • Maintain strong computer skills including ERP/MRP systems.
  • Be organized to manage multiple product lines.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory at optimal price and delivery cycles.
  • Engage in problem solving and corrective actions.
  • Monitor industry trends like shortages and price changes.
  • Protect confidentiality of information.
  • Support ISO standards and wear PPE as directed.
  • Demonstrate firearms safety knowledge.
  • Keep workstation and area clean.
  • Report maintenance and safety issues promptly.
  • Maintain professional conduct with coworkers and management.

Summary Of Position Mission

This position will provide support to the Supply Chain Manager in procuring production, packaging, services and supplies. Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; and coordinates closely with plant engineering and quality to assure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track supplier quality and delivery metrics.
  • Utilize competitive bidding processes to select and manage suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate excellent supplier negotiation skills.
  • Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
  • Organize and maintain online supplier folders to record all agreements, compliance documents, orders, and records for the supply chain.
  • Ensure the contractual documents accurately reflect terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight terms, incoterms, and other key commercial terms.
  • Visit suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in resolving production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems.
  • Ensure maintenance and accuracy of all BOM lead times and standard costs in the ERP system, implementing changes and tracking variances as required.
  • Effectively use verbal and written communication to provide resolution and status updates to team members, internal customers, and suppliers.
  • Work with internal customers to identify and address unmet needs that align with procurement and business goals to deliver long‑term value.
  • Analyze root causes of accounts payable exceptions and take steps to resolve and prevent them.
  • Assist in implementing new sourcing/inventory strategies.
  • Maintain strong computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
  • Be highly organized to manage multiple product lines.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory activities; purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
  • Engage in problem solving, including root cause analysis, and implement corrective action.
  • Monitor and communicate key industry developments and trends (shortages, price escalations, etc.).
  • Manage and administer building/property keys and security camera access.
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Support and adhere to all ISO standards applicable to the company.
  • Wear all necessary personal protective equipment directed by the company at all times.
  • Demonstrate complete working knowledge of firearms safety.
  • Maintain and keep the workstation and department area clean.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to management.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward co-workers, other departments, and the company.
  • Maintain respect, courtesy, and professionalism toward all co-workers and the company.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with co‑workers and management.
  • Actively participate in and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required.
