The Buyer at Nucor Steel Hertford in Cofield, NC, will manage purchasing of materials, products and services, process requisitions and purchase orders, negotiate terms, and build strong supplier relationships while adhering to safety standards.

The Buyer is responsible for Nucor’s purchasing of materials, products, and services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing requisitions/purchase orders, negotiating and enforcing Nucor’s commercial and legal contract terms and conditions, developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/contractors, contributing to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, maintaining supplier compliance files, and coordinating with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
