Job summary

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, ERP proficiency, and strong vendor management. Occasional local travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical field or Supply Chain Management degree with 5+ years purchasing experience, or high school with 8 years.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with multiple priorities.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, locally.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Will not require relocation assistance.

Our client, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology equipment manufacturer, is looking to hire a Buyer.

Pay Rate Range: $60,000-$70,000 annually + bonus, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain a vendor base for required materials.
• Procure, track, and expedite materials to meet customer expectations.
• Manage supplier relationships and support supplier audits and vendor assessments.
• Promote competitive bidding to support cost savings.
• Identify opportunities to reduce the cost of purchased goods.
• Generate reports to monitor purchase orders, safety stock, inventory values, and other purchasing metrics.
• Maintain accurate MRP (Material Requirements Planning) data.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support procurement and material requirements.
• Perform additional purchasing and procurement duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in a technical field or Supply Chain Management with at least 5 years of purchasing experience, OR a high school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, primarily locally.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
