A client of Insight Global is seeking a Buyer to join their team in Buffalo Grove, IL. This individual will be responsible for reviewing requisitions and conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. They will select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items, and will work with the Supply Chain Manager to select suppliers based on criteria such as quality certification, capacity analysis, and financial analysis. The Buyer will estimate values according to market prices and determine the method of procurement, whether through direct purchase or bid. They will prepare purchase orders or bid requests, review bid proposals, and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Additionally, the Buyer will maintain procurement records, including details on items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. They will discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to identify the source of trouble and take corrective action. The Buyer will also approve invoices for payment and expedite the delivery of goods to users.

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, economics or related field, or 15+ years of relevant experience in purchasing
• At least 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Manufacturing or regulated industry experience

Compensation: $30/hr-$45/hr - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education

Duration: 6 month contract to hire
