Job summary

Miasitalian is seeking a motivated busser/food runner to support dining room operations. You will set and clear tables, restock service stations, polish glassware and plateware, and assist with water refills and table maintenance. You will deliver dishes to guests by name and help expediting when needed.

The role requires basic English, ability to work under pressure, and dependable, multi-tasking capabilities. Prior bussing/food-running experience is preferred but not required.

Previous experience as a busser or food runner is preferred, but not required. Must speak basic English. Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated. Must have good organizational, time management and sales skills. Must possess verbal communication skills to relay basic information. Must be dependable, reliable and be driven with minimal supervision. Must possess a high level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through. Must be both effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

Position requires sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession. This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing of up to approximately 21-50lbs. Must be able to withstand changes to temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat. Must be able to work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.

Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear effectively with surrounding background noise. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must possess adequate sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations. Must be able to add, subtract, multiple and divide at a basic level.
