Job summary

Proof of the Pudding at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden seeks an entry-level Busser for a part-time role. You will help keep tables, dining areas, and service stations clean and organized while supporting servers and guest experience.

You should be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, enjoy flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays, and follow safety and sanitation standards. Prior restaurant experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently to maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment.
  • Assist servers by running food, refilling water, and responding to guest needs as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas, service stations, and back-of-house support areas.
  • Restock utensils, glassware, and supplies to ensure smooth service flow.

Bussers support the front-of-house team by keeping tables, dining areas, and service stations clean and organized. They assist with clearing and resetting tables, running food when needed, and ensuring guests have a smooth, enjoyable dining experience.

Work Environment

The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, particularly during peak service hours, with moderate noise from conversations, music, and kitchen activity. This position will be in and out of the kitchen area.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines. Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of moving through the restaurant
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 40 pounds at times.
