Description

The busser is responsible for assisting wait staff and bartenders with the upkeep of tables and service areas. When a party departs, the busser removes dirty dishes, sanitizes the table, cleans the seats, and tidies up the surrounding floor and table area.

Responsibilities

  1. Remove used/unnecessary plates while guests are still seated at the table.
  2. Remove extra place settings or provide additional settings as needed.
  3. Prepare tables for the next round of service by removing all plates and glasses.
  4. Sanitize the table and surrounding area for its next use.
  5. Reset place settings with silverware, water glasses, bread plates, etc.
  6. Restock and assist with maintenance of expo/servers' stations, glass washing area, etc.
  7. Empty trash containers and dirty dish receptacles.
  8. Assist with refilling ice for bar service station.

Skills

  1. Strong customer service skills and a pleasant rapport with dining guests.
  2. Solid communication skills.
  3. Good knowledge of menu items.

Working Conditions

  1. Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, and move around for the entire shift.
  2. Ability to lift or carry up to 15 lbs.

Education/Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Prior restaurant experience is a plus but not required.
