Job summary

Mi Cocina Lake Highlands in Dallas, TX is hiring a restaurant server at M Crowd Restaurant Group. You will greet guests, take orders, and help deliver dishes with a friendly, attentive approach.

Maintain a clean service area, assist teammates during peak periods, and help ensure a smooth dining experience for all guests. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required, with a strong focus on customer service.

Licensing Requirements

• Valid Food Handlers Certification

Duties & Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift
• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and chips & salsa
• Clear tables after guests
• Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area
• Between seating’s promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths. Check floor/bathrooms and clean as required.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating them to the server as needed
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods
• Must maintain a clean and organized service area
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or director

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of restaurant service procedures

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age or older
• Restaurant experience in hospitality environment preferred, but not required
• Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Expected to keep work location a safe and healthy work environment. Utilize basic safety measures to keep the work environment safe. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor. Where safety rules or best practices require that protective clothing/glove/shoes/equipment to be worn, or apparatus utilized, employees must wear clothing /gloves, shoes and equipment and use the apparatus.

• Wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating and drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food prep
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the duration of the shift
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop lift and carry up to 50 lbs. or more
• Exposure to varying temperatures, hot (kitchen) and cold (walk ins)
