Summary
The Busser supports wait staff and bartenders to ensure smooth and efficient service. While not the front line of service, strong attention to detail and attentiveness are essential to delight our guests. The Busser serves water, salsa, and tortilla chips upon guest arrival.
Licensing Requirements
- Valid Food Handlers Certification
Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated and serve water, salsa, and tortilla chips upon guest arrival
- Clear tables after guests leave
- Take soiled tableware to the dish room and unload, sort, and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop‑off area
- Between seating, promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and booths; check floor/bathrooms and clean as required
- Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating them to the server as needed
- Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods
- Maintain a clean and organized service area
- Thank guests as they are leaving
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager or director
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic knowledge of restaurant service procedures
- Understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Team‑oriented with a willingness to assist coworkers as needed
- Ability to clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently
- Ability to carry trays, dishes, and supplies safely
Qualifications
- Minimum 17 years of age
- Restaurant experience in a hospitality environment preferred, but not required
- Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Reach, bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 60 lbs
- Exposure to varying temperatures, hot (kitchen) and cold (walk‑ins)
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment; report safety concerns to supervisor

- Wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating, drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food prep
