Mi Cocina Uptown in Dallas, TX is seeking an energetic Busser to support servers and bartenders, delivering chips and salsa, clearing tables, and keeping the dining area clean for a smooth guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift
• Greet guests as they are seated and chips & salsa

• Take soiled tableware to dish room and sort/stack items
• Between seating’s, clean tabletops, chairs and booths; check floors/bathrooms
• Respond to guest requests and communicate with the server as needed
• Assist server with food delivery during peak periods
• Maintain a clean and organized service area
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation by restaurant management

Summary of Busser Position:

The Busser supports wait staff and bartenders to ensure smooth and efficient service. While not the front line of service, strong attention to detail and attentiveness are essential to delight our guests. The Busser serves water, salsa, and tortilla chips upon guest arrival.

Licensing Requirements:

• Valid Food Handlers Certification

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift


• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and chips & salsa.


• Clear tables after guests.


• Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area


• Between seating’s promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths. Check floor/bathrooms and clean as required.


• Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating them to the server as needed


• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods


• Must maintain a clean and organized service area


• Thank guests as they are leaving


• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or director

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of restaurant service procedures


• Understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards


• Strong customer service and hospitality skills


• Ability to multitask and efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Team-oriented with a willingness to assist coworkers as needed


• Ability to clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently


• Ability to carry trays, dishes, and supplies safely

Qualifications:

• Minimum 17 years of age


• Restaurant experience in hospitality environment preferred, but not required


• Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills


• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

Expected to keep work location a safe and healthy work environment. Utilize basic safety measures to keep the work environment safe. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor. Where safety rules or best practices require that protective clothing/glove/shoes/equipment to be worn, or apparatus utilized, employees must wear clothing /gloves, shoes and equipment and use the apparatus.

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the duration of the shift


• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop lift and carry up to 60 lbs.


• Exposure to varying temperatures, hot (kitchen) and cold (walk-ins)

Safety & Sanitation Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating and drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food prep.
