Responsibilities

• Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
• Answer guest questions regarding the menu and brand.
• Observe and monitor table turnover and table status.
• Assist with resetting tables quickly for seamless service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house team.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Manage time to ensure dishes are ready and trash discarded timely.
• Support side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Foster teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Busser at Ugly Dumpling, you are the oil that keeps the engine of the restaurant moving. You will be instrumental in helping to create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
• Answer guest questions regarding the menu and Ugly Dumpling brand.
• Observe and monitor table turnover by taking note of occupied, dirty or clean tables.
• Support the front-of-house team in resetting tables quickly to seamlessly transition tables to guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to coordinate timely service.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
• Manage time to ensure that all trash is discarded in a timely manner and all dishes are ready for use.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
• Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:

• Prior kitchen experience is not necessary but preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and a passion for food.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
• Comfortable working around fryers and hot cooking surfaces.
