Job summary

The Smith in Chicago is seeking a friendly Busser to support servers, reset tables, and maintain a clean dining room while upholding high hospitality standards.

You will assist with water and bread service, coordinate with the team to ensure smooth dining experiences, and help with basic side work. Prior bartending experience is a plus for versatility and guest interaction.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain clean and organized dining spaces.
• Provide courteous service support to servers and guests.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members and guests.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

• Reset and prepare tables quickly and efficiently to support the flow of service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, including clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and restocking service area
• Support servers and runners by assisting with water service, bread service, and general table maintenance
• Anticipate the needs of guests and the service team to ensure a smooth dining experience
• Work collaboratively with all Smith team members to maintain pace and hospitality standards
• Uphold all food safety, handling, and sanitation requirements
• Assist with opening and closing side work, including stocking, polishing, and cleaning
