Job summary

Cherokee Nation Businesses' Gold Strike Casino in Mississippi is seeking a part-time Bus Person to maintain the employee dining room, storerooms, and beverage station, ensuring cleanliness and stocked service areas. You will work with kitchen staff to ensure prompt guest service and support during busy periods.

This role requires at least one year of restaurant bus or food runner experience, the ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays, and knowledge of health and sanitation

• Experience in a resort setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff to ensure guest service.
• Sanitize tables, chairs, and booths to health standards.
• Restock condiments, cutlery, napkins, and beverages.
• Sweep or mop dining area to maintain cleanliness.
• Support dishwashers and food servers during busy periods.
• Set up dining area and food stations.
• Wash, chop, and prep fruits, vegetables, and meats as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Bus Person is to maintain the employee dining room (EDR), including the storerooms, food pick-up area, and beverage station according to established cleanliness and stock standards.

Position: Hourly, Part-Time
Location: Gold Strike Casino

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with kitchen staff to ensure proper guest service.
• Sanitization: Wiping down tables, chairs and booths with sanitizer to meet health standards.
• Restocking: Replenishing condiments, cutlery, napkins and beverages at service stations.
• Floor Care: Sweeping or mopping the dining area throughout the shift to remove debris.
• Support: Assisting the kitchen staff, dishwashers and food servers during busy periods.
• Preparation: Setting up the dining area, as well as the food stations. Such as Salad bar, Hot Line and varies food stations.
• Food Preparation: Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing fruits, vegetables and meats. Preparing simple dishes and assembling ingredients for chefs.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• One (1) year of experience in a restaurant as a Bus or Food Runner.
• Experience working in a similar resort setting.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking. An ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays may also be required.
