Job summary

KLR is seeking a Business Valuation Manager to join our Business Valuation Services Team based in Boston with a flexible hybrid schedule.

The role delivers valuations for closely held businesses, supports tax planning, and collaborates with tax and advisory professionals to provide integrated client solutions.

Qualifications include CPA and 5+ years in valuation, strong Excel/modeling skills, and experience with valuation methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of business valuation experience
  • CPA required; ABV, ASA, CVA, or CFA preferred
  • Public Accounting tax experience (3–5 years) a plus
  • Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies (income, market, and asset approaches)
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Strong written communication for valuation reports and client deliverables
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting technology; experience with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, and XCM is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare valuations of closely held businesses, including common stock, gift and estate valuations, shareholder buy-outs, and purchase and sale transactions, often in support of tax compliance and planning engagements.
  • Support tax-related matters through valuation analyses, including estate and gift tax reporting, transaction structuring, and coordination with tax professionals on complex client scenarios.
  • Exposure to financial reporting valuations is a plus, including: Business combinations (purchase price allocations), including valuation of intangible assets; Goodwill and long-lived asset impairment analyses; Inventory, deferred revenue, and contingent consideration assessments; Debt and equity component analyses
  • Perform financial analysis, modeling, and industry research to support valuation conclusions and client deliverables.
  • Support 409A valuations and purchase price allocations
  • Advise clients on business planning, strategic investments, and other financial objectives, including implications from both a valuation and tax perspective.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with tax and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

We are seeking a Business Valuation Manager to join our Business Valuation Services Team based in our Providence office on a flexible hybrid basis.

The Business Valuation Manager will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of valuation services to various clients in a wide variety of industries.

  • Prepare valuations of closely held business entities, including common stock, gift and estate valuations, shareholder buy‑outs, and purchase and sale transactions, often in support of tax compliance and planning engagements.

This is a full-time position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours, including some evenings and weekends, will be required during peak busy seasons.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range do not include benefits and bonus potential, and are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.

$120,000.00 - $140,000.00
