Job summary

Brinkmann Constructors in Missouri offers a Project Engineer Intern role to support the Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent in day-to-day construction management. You will help keep projects on track and coordinate with the team on site.

As part of the Brinkmann BUILD program you will participate in events, trainings and site visits, perform assigned tasks with guidance, and work closely with subcontractors and clients to learn the craft and advance your career.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil, architectural, or construction engineering or construction management.
• General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret contract docs, drawings, specs, scopes, and schedules.
• Ability to propose alternative solutions to complex challenges.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, architectural or construction) or construction management.
• General knowledge of construction principles/practices.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Ability to understand and solve complex challenges in order to present alternative solution(s).
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.

Working Conditions:

• The project engineer intern’s work is primarily performed indoors out of a main office or field office at the construction site; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing.
