Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations or related field.
  • MBA is a plus; 8+ years of leadership in manufacturing.
  • Experience managing a P&L or business unit; highly regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of a manufacturing business unit.
  • Own the P&L and drive revenue, profitability and performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales.
  • Build and mentor cross-functional teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure execution on critical programs.
  • Establish KPIs and use data to drive decisions.
  • Support growth, capacity planning, and scaling of operations.

We're partnering with an established aerospace and defense manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead a high-performing operation.

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a business unit with responsibility for operations, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing business unit.
  • Own the P&L and drive revenue, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to achieve business objectives.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure exceptional execution on critical programs.
  • Establish KPIs and use data to make strategic business decisions.
  • Support long-term growth initiatives, capacity planning, and operational scaling.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (MBA a plus)
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Experience managing a P&L or business unit
  • Aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred
  • Strong background in:
    • Manufacturing Operations
    • Supply Chain
    • Program Management
    • Customer Relations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver operational results.
Preferred Experience
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
  • AS9100 or ISO quality systems
