Job summary

LCS seeks a Business Unit Administrator in Des Moines to support Finance and Development leaders. You will handle inquiries, perform budget tracking, create reports, and coordinate meetings, travel, and vendor contracts.

You’ll also develop presentations and lead strategic projects, ensuring calendar discipline and follow-ups for senior leadership. The role demands strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus a minimum of 6 years advanced operational administrative experience.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and business administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant business software.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for business unit personnel, addressing inquiries and operational needs.
  • Perform financial analysis and budget tracking for the business unit.
  • Develop and maintain reports and spreadsheets utilizing various software applications.
  • Act as a liaison between senior leadership and corporate offices, external agencies, and employees.
  • Provide executive-level administrative support, including handling correspondence, scheduling travel, and managing document preparation and filing.
  • Independently create professional presentations and reports, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings for business units, including scheduling, budgeting, travel, vendor contracts, and materials.
  • Lead special projects involving data collection, analysis, training, and strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain a master calendar for senior leadership and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes and ensure action item completion.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and coordinate meetings for business units. This includes, but is not limited to: scheduling, budgeting, managing accommodations and travel, negotiating vendor contracts, ensuring meeting room set up is appropriate, and presentation materials are available.
  • Lead special projects that involve data collection, analysis, training, and strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain a master calendar of critical dates for the senior leadership team and ensure timely follow-ups. Seamlessly manage scheduling conflicts and negotiate compromises.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes to ensure alignment and accountability and take ownership of ensuring action items are completed.
  • Perform other duties and essential functions as needed.
