Job description

Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experience. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being.

Education

• Associate Degree or 60 college semester hours in a related field

• For level02 includes lower‑level work such as that equivalent to level01 or GS‑03 level of difficulty in a technical area

Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily sedentary, with occasional periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as books, papers, files and laptop/computer.
• Good distant vision in one eye and the ability to read printed material of typewritten size without strain; glasses permitted.
• Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, is required; some positions may be suitable for persons who are blind or deaf.
• In most instances, an amputation of arm, hand, leg or foot will not disqualify an applicant, though it may need to be compensated by a satisfactory prosthesis.
• Applicants must possess mental and emotional stability.
• Normal physical activity, field travel and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the duty station are required.
• Provision of field services involves operation of a motor vehicle, which requires possession of a current state driver’s license.
