About the Role:
Are you someone who enjoys figuring out how things work, learning new technology, and making sure the details are right?
HR Annie Consulting is partnering with a Portland area company to find a Business Systems & IT Coordinator to join its team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who has a foundation in technology and data and is excited to keep learning.
This role blends business systems, data, and hands on IT support. You’ll help maintain the systems and information that keep day to day operations moving, support employees with everyday technology needs, and learn how data travels between internal systems and external platforms. You’ll also have opportunities to help improve processes, document what you learn, and explore ways technology and AI can make work more efficient.
You don’t need to come in knowing every system. The team is looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, curiosity, attention to detail, and the confidence to dig into a problem when the answer isn’t immediately obvious.
What You’ll Do:
- Support day to day administration of business systems and technology.
- Provide hands on IT support to employees, from user setup and permissions to everyday hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Maintain accurate product and item data within an ERP system.
- Work with SQL based reporting and data to support business needs.
- Maintain information across external web based portals and business platforms.
- Monitor data and document flow and help troubleshoot issues when something doesn’t look right.
- Use AI tools to support data preparation, reporting, process improvement, and other projects.
- Learn existing workflows, identify opportunities to make them more efficient, and help document improved processes.
- Create and maintain clear SOPs and other internal documentation.
- Partner with employees across different departments to understand needs, troubleshoot problems, and keep systems running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is curious, adaptable, and comfortable solving problems. You’re organized, communicate well with others, and aren’t afraid to ask questions, clarify direction, or dig into something unfamiliar.
You will bring:
- Working knowledge of SQL, including an understanding of joins and how relational data works.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and basic user support.
- Experience using AI tools and an interest in finding practical ways to use them at work.
- Strong Excel skills, including lookups, sorting, filtering, and basic pivot tables.
- Comfort learning unfamiliar software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the patience to work through data that may require multiple rounds of review.
- Clear, timely written communication.
- A problem solving mindset and willingness to dig into something you haven’t encountered before.
- The confidence to ask questions, clarify instructions, and speak up when something doesn’t look right.
Nice to Haves:
These are helpful, but not required:
- Coursework, a degree, or professional experience in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related area.
- Exposure to C#.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Familiarity with EDI, APIs, or other system integrations.
- Experience working with web based customer or supplier portals.
- Experience writing SOPs or documenting technical processes.
