Job summary

First Century Bank is seeking a curious and analytical Business Systems and Reporting Analyst to support the Business Analytics and ACH team. You will help the bank understand data, maintain reports, test system changes, and improve processes in a hybrid Commerce, GA role.

You will collaborate with analysts, IT, project managers, and partners, gaining exposure to reporting, banking systems, payments, and product implementations while developing your skills under experienced teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, data analysis, finance, accounting, computer science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred; internships or project work may be considered.
• Strong Excel, foundational SQL, relational data, and data-validation techniques.
• Curious, asks questions, learns unfamiliar systems, and understands business purpose behind reports.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and analysis: create, modify, and maintain reports using SQL, Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, or other tools.
• Understand business needs by engaging with senior analysts and stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
• Data validation: review outputs for completeness and accuracy; compare sources and identify inconsistencies.
• Research and troubleshooting: investigate questions, document findings, and escalate as needed.
• Testing and change support: perform UAT for reports and scripts; prepare test cases and record results.
• Process improvement: suggest improvements to reporting, data collection, and processes.
• Implementation support: assist with new client/product/vendor/system initiatives including data mapping and post-implementation validation.
• Documentation: maintain report definitions, data-flow docs, and test results.
• Ticket and project support: log issues, track progress, and contribute to project teams.
• Cross training: learn the Bank's reporting environment, ACH/payments systems, and portals to provide flexible support.

First Century Bank has an exciting career opportunity for a curious and analytical Business Systems and Reporting Analyst. This position supports the Business Analytics and ACH team by helping the Bank understand its data, maintain accurate and useful reporting, investigate questions, test system changes, and improve business processes.

We are looking for someone who wants to understand not only what the data shows, but why it matters. The successful candidate will ask thoughtful questions, approach problems logically, and build knowledge through active participation and collaboration. This is a developmental role that will work closely with experienced analysts, business departments, IT, project managers, and third-party partners while gaining exposure to reporting, banking systems, payments, and product implementations.

Duties And Responsibilities Can Include

• Reporting and analysis: Create, modify, and maintain operational, management, monitoring, and reconciliation reports using SQL, Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, or other available reporting tools.
• Business understanding: Demonstrate understanding by interacting with senior analysts and business stakeholders to create and define reporting and data needs, identify the purpose behind each request, and help determine the most useful way to present the information.
• Data validation: Review reports, data extracts, file loads, and other outputs for completeness and accuracy. Compare information across sources, identify inconsistencies, and escalation potential data-integrity concerns.
• Research and troubleshooting: Investigate reporting, data, and system questions; document findings; and work with the appropriate team to resolve or elevate issues.
• Testing and change support: Perform user acceptance testing for reports, system enhancements, scripts, and new processes. Prepare test cases, compare expected and actual results, record evidence, and communicate findings clearly.
• Process improvement: Provide feedback on design and improvement of reporting, data collection, monitoring, and business processes. Suggest ideas to make recurring work more accurate, efficient, and sustainable.
• Implementation support: Support new client, product, vendor, and system initiatives by confirming requirements, completing data mapping, generating reporting, performing testing, creating readiness reviews, and completing post-implementation validation.
• Documentation: Create and maintain report definitions, procedures, data-flow documentation, test results, issue summaries, and other materials needed to preserve knowledge and support consistent processes.
• Ticket and project support: Document issues and requests in the Bank's ticketing systems, maintain supporting evidence, track progress, validate corrections, and participate on project teams as assigned.
• Cross training and team support: Develop working knowledge of the Bank's reporting environment, ACH and other payment products, banking portals, and related systems so the position can provide flexible analytical and project support as priorities evolve.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, data analysis, finance, accounting, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• One to three years of related experience is preferred; relevant internships, coursework, or project experience may also be considered.
• Strong Excel skills and a foundational understanding of SQL, relational data, and common data-validation techniques.
• Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to ask questions, learn unfamiliar systems, and understand the business purpose behind reports and processes.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research an issue carefully and reach conclusions supported by evidence.
• High attention to detail when working with financial data, transactions, and sensitive information.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work so that others can understand and repeat it.
• Ability to organize assignments, balance recurring responsibilities with project work, and seek guidance when priorities or results are unclear.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business departments, technology teams, project managers, and external partners.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, or other reporting and visualization tools.
• Experience with financial services, banking, payments, reconciliations, file processing, workflow automation, or system testing.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, ticketing systems, and collaborative project environments.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position. The employee may work remotely and will also be expected to work from the Commerce, Georgia office as needed for training, collaboration, and team development.
