Overview
A privately held, global manufacturing and engineering organization is seeking an Operational Business Systems Analyst to optimize its JD Edwards ERP environment. This role will directly shape manufacturing and distribution processes, translating business needs into practical solutions that improve efficiency and performance across the organization.
What you'll do
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand, prioritize, and document requirements, test cases, exceptions, and acceptance criteria
- Create process maps and develop deep knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, inventory, production planning, and supply chain operations
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, decision-making, and system utilization, measuring results through meaningful KPIs
- Use JD Edwards expertise to evaluate options and collaborate with the ERP development team to design practical solutions
- Provide hands-on user support and training to drive adoption of new JD Edwards functionality and enhancements
- Lead JD Edwards projects from requirements through implementation, managing scope, budget, timelines, and quality
- Bring proven best practices into the organization and help turn them into measurable improvements
- Maintain accurate, standardized process and user documentation and ensure data quality within JD Edwards
- Stay current on JD Edwards releases, new functionality, and industry best practices
- Support security and compliance requirements, including change management, service requests, and outage tracking
- Serve as the JD Edwards subject matter expert for manufacturing and distribution, working across Global Information Systems, Operations, Application Engineering, and Supply Chain teams
- Help build and enhance system capabilities that support growth, customer satisfaction, and team efficiency
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an ERP Business Systems Analyst or similar role supporting JD Edwards applications
- Strong hands-on knowledge of JD Edwards, with particular strength in manufacturing and/or distribution modules
- Understanding of how JD Edwards integrates with the broader technology environment, including configuration, customization, integrations, and development tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex business requirements into practical solutions
- Proven ability to plan, manage, and deliver projects while keeping scope, timelines, and priorities on track
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with a global team across functions, locations, and organizational levels
- Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Leadership, and external vendors
- Self-starter able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Must reside within a reasonable daily commute to Shelby Township or Westland, MI, or be motivated to relocate to the area upon hire
- Must be willing to spend at least two days per week in each location (Shelby Township and Westland, MI)
- Legally authorized to work in the USA, now and in the future, without any form of sponsorship (must be a US Citizen or GC Holder in the USA)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with additional JD Edwards modules beyond manufacturing and distribution is a plus
