Job summary

SGS Consulting seeks a Data & Reporting Specialist to design, implement, and optimize automated reporting and data solutions within a Microsoft 365 environment. You will gather requirements, translate them into scalable Power Platform solutions, and own projects from inception to delivery.

Responsibilities include building dashboards, automating workflows, and maintaining data quality across reporting processes in a hybrid Chicago setting. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in a technical/business field.
• Experience translating business requirements into data-driven technical solutions (Power Platform preferred).
• Experience building automated reporting solutions and dashboards in a Microsoft 365 / Power Platform environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related tools.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data-driven solutions and workflows.
• Work with Microsoft 365 data sources, Dataverse, and Power Query M code to prepare data for reporting.
• Ensure data integrity, validation, and reliability across reporting solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver impactful reporting and automation.
• Own data and reporting projects from requirements through implementation in a hybrid Chicago environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance automated reporting solutions to support business operations and decision-making
• Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical and data-driven solutions
• Work hands-on with business data, reporting processes, and Microsoft 365 technologies
• Support data sourcing, transformation, validation, and reporting activities
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing reporting processes and solutions
• Take ownership of new data, reporting, and business systems projects from requirements through implementation
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes and improve workflow efficiency
• Analyze existing business processes and recommend opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Support development of business applications and tools within a Microsoft 365 low-code environment
• Develop and enhance solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query, Dataverse, and DAX
• Create and maintain automated workflows using Power Automate
• Develop and enhance Power Apps solutions based on business requirements
• Use Power Query and M code for data extraction, transformation, and preparation
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and reporting solutions
• Apply DAX to create calculations, measures, and business reporting logic
• Work with Dataverse and relational data structures to support business applications and reporting solutions
• Understand database schemas, relationships, and relational data structures
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting solutions
• Investigate data quality issues and identify appropriate corrective actions
• Support business users with reporting, data, and business systems requirements
• Translate complex business needs into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
• Operate independently within the business unit with minimal traditional IT support
• Quickly learn and apply new software platforms, development syntax, tools, and technologies
• Maintain existing solutions while continuously identifying opportunities for enhancement
• Support initiatives involving AI capabilities, workflow automation, and intelligent business processes
• Identify opportunities to introduce AI and automation into existing operational workflows
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and expected outcomes
• Develop technical solutions that align with business processes and reporting requirements
• Support investment and financial reporting processes through accurate and reliable data solutions
• Apply understanding of investment and/or finance concepts to reporting and business systems requirements
• Assist with data-related projects within the business unit from planning through implementation
• Document business requirements, technical solutions, workflows, and reporting processes
• Perform testing and validation of applications, reports, workflows, and data solutions
• Troubleshoot technical and data-related issues and implement appropriate solutions
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements, data integrity standards, and operational needs
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently
• Participate in business and technical meetings and communicate project status, issues, and requirements
• Work effectively in a hybrid environment with onsite collaboration in downtown Chicago
• Perform additional business systems, data, reporting, and automation duties as assigned
