Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to lead the integration and configuration of our Epic Tapestry environment. This role focuses on the end-to-end lifecycle of payer data, from ingesting external files and database records to transforming them into X12 formats for seamless loading into Epic. The analyst will be responsible for both the technical integration layer and the internal business logic within the Tapestry module.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Integration & Transformation: Design and maintain pipelines to ingest data from internal/external sources. Convert data formats into X12 837 (Claims) and 834 (Enrollment) standards for Epic ingestion.
- Epic Tapestry Build: Perform hands‑on build, maintenance, and optimization of Tapestry modules including Claims, Membership, and Benefits Engine.
- Business Rules Translation: Translate complex payer policies into actionable business rules and system configurations within Epic.
- SQL & Data Validation: Use SQL to query database tables, validate data integrity, and troubleshoot interface errors between the integration layer and Epic.
- Azure Data Factory (ADF): Utilize ADF as the central hub for data movement and orchestration, ensuring reliable delivery of mission‑critical healthcare data.
Required Skills & Experience
- Current Epic Tapestry Certification (UM or Claims focus preferred).
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on build experience in Tapestry environments.
- 3–5+ years working with 837 and 834 transaction sets, X12 EDI transactions.
- 3–5+ years of advanced SQL querying and data validation experience.
- 1–2+ years (highly preferred) in enterprise integration or ETL roles using Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with ANSI X12 standards, SQL Server, and cloud‑based ETL tools.
- Familiarity with Epic Bridges and data structures within Chronicles/Clarity.
- Ability to map complex source‑to‑target data flows and identify bottlenecks in integration layers.
- Strong ability to translate between clinical/business requirements and technical integration specifications.
