Job summary

East Texas A&M University is seeking a Business Technical Analyst to bridge Enrollment Management & Student Affairs with IT, analyzing needs and implementing technology solutions to support recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and student success.

The role collaborates with leadership, vendors, and campus partners to translate requirements into technical specs, ensure data quality, and support system integrations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
• Four months of experience in a technical analyst, data analyst, or programmer/DBA role.
• Experience with Banner, Element451, Salesforce preferred.
• Proficient in SQL and data analysis with relational databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, workflows, and system functionality to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiency.
• Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Support implementation, configuration, and optimization of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs systems (CRM, SIS, admissions, engagement, student success).
• Analyze and validate data across systems; support data reconciliation, mapping, migration, and governance.
• Develop and maintain reporting requirements, dashboards, data definitions, and analytical solutions.
