Job summary

Huntington is seeking a Business Systems Analyst III to act as a senior liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. You will translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and lead cross-functional discussions to drive automated and optimized solutions.

You will support Agile and Waterfall delivery, document requirements, and develop training and procedures while ensuring regulatory and governance compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 2 years IT experience or equivalent IT analytics/troubleshooting/customer service experience.
• Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Ability to collaborate with business units, development, QA, and production support teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners and tech teams to elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, processes, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead requirements reviews and facilitate discussions among cross-functional teams.
• Analyze existing processes to identify automation, optimization, and efficiency opportunities.
• Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and solution planning.
• Act as SME for assigned applications and business processes.
• Create and maintain BRDs, process docs, workflows, diagrams, and user procedures.
• Develop operational procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, risk, and governance requirements.
• Serve as liaison between business units, vendors, and production support.

Description Summary The Business Systems Analyst III serves as a senior-level liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring business needs are translated into effective technology solutions. This role is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and maintaining complex business applications while driving operational improvements, documenting requirements, facilitating solution design, and supporting project delivery. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience working within Agile and Waterfall environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively across business, development, architecture, quality assurance, vendor, and production support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead requirements review sessions and facilitate discussions between business, development, architecture, QA, and support teams.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Support backlog refinement, prioritization activities, and solution planning.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and business processes.
• Create and maintain business requirements documents, process documentation, workflows, system diagrams, and user procedures.
• Develop operational procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, risk, and governance requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between business units, technology teams, third‑party vendors, and external partners.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and status updates with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and project team members.
• Lead or participate in strategic initiatives, cross‑functional projects, and continuous improvement efforts.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Minimum 2 years of related experience or an additional 2 years of IT experience that includes IT Analytics, IT Troubleshooting, or IT Customer Service may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to focus on customer service and to work well with other IT colleagues, vendors and business groups.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
• The BSA will conduct comprehensive requirements reviews with project stakeholders, development, architecture and QA teams.
• The individual must be self‑motivated with a passion for service excellence.
• The individual must have proven organizational skills with the ability to develop a detailed work plan to ensure project success.
• The individual must be able to research issues and determine and document cause as well as take appropriate corrective actions.
• Experience with system testing and documentation.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Experience with Quality Center or equivalent defect management experience Experience with SQL, data mapping and data mining.
• Experience supporting file transmission processes like FTPs, FTP, FTPs.
• Experience with Accounting and Reconcilement applications.

Compensation Range

Total Base Pay Range 49,925.00 - 92,575.00 USD Annual The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education.Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
