Job summary

Huntington is seeking an experienced Application Architect to drive the architecture and strategy for the commercial loan servicing platform. You will design scalable, secure solutions, ensure data integrity, and align with regulatory requirements across enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities include shaping the roadmap, guiding API development, and mentoring teams while partnering with business, product, and infrastructure to deliver compliant, high-performance applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in solution architecture, technology strategy, IT transformation, or financial services technology leadership
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience implementing architecture governance practices in regulated, agile, product-centric, or scaled delivery environments
• Strong understanding of standard architecture patterns such as distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, data platforms, resiliency, modern application architecture, and responsible AI governance concepts
• Experience with SQL and application integration

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the application roadmap, including technology direction and modernization initiatives
• Develop solution approaches, architecture recommendations, and technical roadmaps
• Align application architecture with enterprise standards, security requirements, and business objectives
• Provide high-level estimates and assess solution complexity for new initiatives
• Guide teams on application design, integration patterns, API development, and best practices
• Lead architecture reviews and support key technical decisions
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with organizational standards
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to business and technical stakeholders
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and system integration artifacts
• Document technical debt, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities
• Promote architecture standards and documentation best practices
• Mentor developers and technical team members
• Lead cross-functional discussions to resolve technical challenges and dependencies
• Partner with business, product, infrastructure, and vendor teams to deliver solutions
• Support planning, implementation, and continuous improvement efforts across applications

We are seeking a seasoned Application Architect to drive the architecture and strategy for the commercial loan servicing platform. This role focuses on designing scalable, secure solutions, ensuring reliable data flow across systems, and aligning with enterprise and regulatory needs. The architect will collaborate with business and technology teams to define target architecture, guide modernization, and support integration. The role also ensures strong data governance, system performance, and alignment with downstream systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, banking domain knowledge, and the ability to drive architectural decisions that support business goals and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• 10 years of experience preferred.
• Experience in banking, financial services, lending, or another regulated technology environment.
• Experience across business, application, data, infrastructure, security, cloud, and integration architecture domains.
• Familiarity with AI governance, model risk considerations, responsible AI principles, data governance, privacy, explain ability, and control frameworks in regulated environments.

Compensation Range

70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education.

Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
