Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or Diploma (NQF 6-7) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analysis, Computer Science, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
• Experience in requirements elicitation, process modelling, functional specification, data analysis, testing, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Analyse CARF policy, legislative, regulatory, and operational requirements and assess their impact on processes and systems.
• Elicit, validate, document, and manage business, data, functional, and non-functional requirements across the solution lifecycle.
• Map current- and future-state processes, business rules, user journeys, data flows, interfaces, and reporting needs.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into clear specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation.
• Support the definition and validation of data capture, due diligence, exchange, reconciliation, exception management, and regulatory reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Requirements

• Analyse CARF policy, legislative, regulatory, and operational requirements and assess their impact on processes and systems.
• Elicit, validate, document, and manage business, data, functional, and non-functional requirements across the solution lifecycle.
• Map current- and future-state processes, business rules, user journeys, data flows, interfaces, and reporting needs.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into clear specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation.
• Support the definition and validation of data capture, due diligence, exchange, reconciliation, exception management, and regulatory reporting processes.

Delivery & Quality

• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, data specialists, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet approved requirements.
• Develop test scenarios and cases, support system integration and user acceptance testing, and manage defects.
• Validate system outputs, data quality controls, reconciliations, and regulatory reports for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Support release planning, implementation readiness, change management, training, and post-implementation review.

Governance & Collaboration

• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit processes.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and elevate them appropriately.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

Mandatory

• Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or Diploma (NQF 6-7) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analysis, Computer Science, Finance, Taxation, or a related field;
• A relevant qualification plus at least 3 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst;
• Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, process modelling, functional specification, data analysis, testing, and stakeholder engagement.

Advantageous

• Experience in tax administration, regulatory reporting, financial services, crypto assets, digital assets, data exchange, or compliance systems.
• Knowledge of CARF, crypto asset service providers, tax transparency, or automatic exchange of information.

Location: Pretoria (Hybrid) - successful candidates must be based in Pretoria Contract duration: Until 31 March 2028
