Job summary

Jackson James is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join the established applications team. The role focuses on supporting and administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with a strong emphasis on supply chain, inventory, purchasing and warehouse processes.

You will ensure BC remains stable, collaborate with operational teams, and help improve how BC is used across the organisation. The successful candidate will be part of the ERP support function, handling day-to-day BC support,

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
• Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory processes (purchasing, stock management, warehousing).
• Experience supporting ERP users in a supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of Business Central functionality across inventory, purchasing, warehousing, finance and/or manufacturing.
• Experience managing users, permissions, security roles and ERP administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root causes.
• Experience in ERP support, application support, or business systems environments.
• Understanding of inventory transactions, stock movements, purchase/sales orders and warehouse processes.
• Excellent communication with a customer-focused support approach.
• Ability to prioritise multiple requests in a busy environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Jet Reports, SQL, or data analysis is advantageous.
• Exposure to BC extensions, integrations, APIs, or third-party applications is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to stay stable and fit for business use.
• Provide day-to-day BC support to users across Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehousing, Finance and Operations.
• Respond to and resolve BC tickets, troubleshooting functional, transactional, and system issues.
• Support and maintain inventory, purchasing, stock management, warehouse, and supply chain processes within BC.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, data issues, and problems related to purchasing, sales, inventory movements.
• Manage user accounts, security roles, permissions and BC administration.
• Support data management activities including imports, exports, cleansing, validation and quality maintenance.
• Assist with BC updates, testing, system changes, and routine maintenance.
• Work with supply chain/operational teams to understand issues and identify process improvements.
• Liaise with BC partners, developers, and integration providers to resolve complex issues.
• Maintain system documentation, support procedures, user guides and knowledge articles.
• Support testing and implementation of new BC functionality, extensions, integrations and improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to maximise BC value across the business.

We are partnered with a leading organisation looking to appoint a Business Systems Analyst to join their established applications team.

They are looking for someone with experience supporting and administering D365 Business Central who has a strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, purchasing and warehouse processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving day-to-day system issues, supporting users, and helping to improve the way Business Central is used across the organisation.

The successful candidate will become a key member of the ERP support function, providing day-to-day Business Central support, maintaining system data and functionality and working closely with operational teams to ensure supply chain and inventory processes run effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring the system remains stable, reliable and fit for business use.
• Provide day-to-day Business Central support to users across Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehousing, Finance and Operations.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience supporting or administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
• Good understanding of supply chain and inventory processes, ideally including purchasing, stock management, warehousing, sales, replenishment, or logistics.
• Experience supporting ERP users within a supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or similar operational environment.
• Strong understanding of Business Central functionality across inventory, purchasing, warehousing, finance and/or manufacturing.
• Experience managing users, permissions, security roles and general ERP administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate functional issues and identify root causes.
• Experience working within an ERP support, application support, or business systems environment.
• Good understanding of inventory transactions, stock movements, item data, purchase orders, sales orders and warehouse processes.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach to supporting end users.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests effectively in a busy environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Jet Reports, SQL, Business Central reporting, or data analysis would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Business Central extensions, integrations, APIs, or third-party applications would be beneficial.
• Experience supporting Business Central within a multi-site, warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment would be desirable.
