Job description

Join Cambridgeshire Libraries and help support a service that connects people with reading, learning, culture and their local communities.

We're looking for an organised, proactive and collaborative Business Officer to provide administrative support across the Cambridgeshire Libraries Service, including The Library Presents; our award‑winning arts programme that brings high-quality performances and creative workshops into libraries across the county. The programme is shaped by local communities and makes arts and culture accessible, affordable and welcoming for everyone. It is funded by Arts Council England and delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council in partnership with cultural organisations.

This is a part‑time job share role. You'll work closely with your job share partner and colleagues across the Libraries Service, so excellent communication, organisation and teamwork are essential. We're looking for someone who enjoys sharing information, maintaining continuity and building positive working relationships to ensure a seamless service.

We value our colleagues in Cambridgeshire County Council and have developed a number of benefits in addition to the basics like annual leave, sick pay, pension and mileage…

Benefits
  • A comprehensive wellbeing package to cover all aspects of wellbeing, both in and out of work, which can also be accessed by your family.
  • Buy up to 4 weeks additional annual leave (pro‑rate) through our salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Take your bank holidays flexibly to better suit your personal circumstances.
  • Make Additional Voluntary Contributions (Shared AVCs) to your pension with tax and National Insurance savings.
  • Access development opportunities, apprenticeships and qualified coaches to support your personal and professional growth.
  • Paid volunteering hours each year so you can make a positive impact on our community during your normal working day.
  • Access Peer Support Groups through our IDEAL staff and equality, diversity and inclusion network.
  • Opportunities to nominate and receive Employee Recognition Awards.
  • An Our Cambs Rewards account, giving you access to in-store and online discounts as well as our Car Lease and Cycle to Work schemes.

Take a look at our Employment Benefits Brochure attached to this advert to find out more.

What will you be doing?

As Business Officer, you'll be at the heart of the team's day-to-day operations, helping ensure our services run smoothly. From coordinating meetings and maintaining accurate records to supporting financial processes and responding to enquiries, you'll provide high-quality administrative support that enables colleagues to deliver excellent services for our communities.

You'll also support The Library Presents, helping the team deliver an exciting programme of performances, workshops and community engagement activities that transform libraries into vibrant cultural spaces across Cambridgeshire.

No two days are the same, so you'll need to be adaptable, organised and confident managing a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
