Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school located in Somerset and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Serving grades Kindergarten through 12th, CJCP has a diverse student population from urban and suburban neighborhoods. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, now serving over 1,300 students with about 200 faculty and staff. CJCP is a recipient of many awards and designations such as 2016 Blue Ribbon Award, NJDOE Top-Performing Tier-I Status, US News Best High Schools, and College Board Female Diversity Awards. CJCP has produced a 100% graduation rate and a 100% acceptance rate into four-year colleges and universities since 2011.
The mission of CJCP is to provide academic and social challenges and opportunities for students to attain the skills necessary for success in post-secondary education. CJCP serves its mission by offering rigorous educational programs with an emphasis on college preparation, college and career counseling, and extracurricular enrichment activities.
OVERALL GOAL:
The Business Specialist is an integral part of the schools' central business office. The primary goal of the role is to support the Business Office in coordinating food service, grant administration and any other functions as designated by the Chief Education Officer .
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Prior experience in school nutrition/food service program administration, grant administration, or public-sector fiscal support preferred.
- Working knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire proficiency in, USDA School Nutrition Program requirements and NJDOE Division of Food and Nutrition reporting.
- Familiarity with the NJDOE Electronic Web-Enabled Grant (EWEG) system and New Jersey Grants Management System (NJGMS) preferred.
- Advanced level of effective communication and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and school information/finance systems.
- Must satisfy a criminal history background check under N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1 and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
School Food Service Program
- Coordinates the School's Food service operation.
- Coordinates all meal applications.
- Completes and maintains all state required documents and prepares all required state reports.
- Collaborates with the Food service Provider on all food service needs
- Prepares food service reports and documentation for audit.
- Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, research and other fact finding actions and meetings.
- Seek out new Grant opportunities.
- Drafts and completes grant applications according to application requirements.
- Ensures each grant is submitted on time and within application parameters.
- Completes all documents, forms or reports required by the grant.
- Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by grants.
- Collaborates with the Purchasing Agent to monitor the expenditure of grant funds
- Develops and maintains master files on grants and all associated grant-funded program paperwork.

12-month, full-time position, renewed on an annual basis
