This position is a highly visible, public facing position that serves as a key point of contact for the local business community and policymakers while overseeing a team of City employees that serve as business navigators. Maintaining a regular presence in the community, building relationships, and engaging directly with businesses are essential parts of the role. This position also provides operational leadership, oversees complex economic development initiatives, and supports departmental strategic priorities

Ten years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning, housing development, economic development, public administration, or financial management. business administration. NOTE: An Associate’s Degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of work experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may be substituted for four years of experience. A Master’s Degree in a related field may be submitted for six years of experience.
This position may require a background check which may include criminal history, and employment history as a condition of employment. Candidates will be required to submit proof of education to Human Resources upon conditional job offer, if qualifying with education.
