Job description

This is a temporary position with no leave or retirement benefits. Temporary employees working an average of 30+ hours per week may be eligible for health insurance under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). More information is available at www.shpnc.org.

Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their current position to work in a temporary role. Each temporary employee is limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.

Job Hourly Rate: $25.00 (based on education and experience).

This role is assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services at 695 Palmer Dr, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The position involves ensuring accurate processing of monthly Financial Status Reports (FSRs), Invoices, Direct Payments, and Cash Advances according to state and departmental rules by:

  1. Entering Invoices and FSRs daily into the FSR log from emails received.
  2. Verifying contract details on FSR templates for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Ensuring the FSR month is correct.
  4. Checking for required signatures on FSRs.
  5. Verifying that vendors are not on the Suspension List.
  6. Confirming funds are available in NCFS for payments.
  7. Analyzing discrepancies in payments, funding, and PO balances.
  8. Collaborating with various offices to resolve FSR issues.
  9. Updating logs for FSRs sent for payment processing.

  • General accounting and business knowledge.
  • Ability to prepare documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
  • Experience compiling financial data in spreadsheets.

Minimum Education and Experience: Associates degree in business or related field from an accredited institution.

This position is primarily remote. Travel to Raleigh is required for equipment pickup and maintenance, with occasional travel for training and meetings.
