Morgan Stanley is seeking a Business Service Officer in Boca Raton to lead a branch team of Support Professionals and ensure high standards of client service and compliance. The role reports to the Market Business Service Officer and collaborates with Market Sales, Risk and HR to drive service initiatives.

Responsibilities include people management, onboarding, training, budget oversight and process improvements to maximize productivity across the branch and with Advisor teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education.
  • Active Series 7 (GS), Series 9 and Series 10 (SU), Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required.
  • Knowledge of Firm’s Risk & Compliance policies is important.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Branch in executing strategic priorities with coaching and compliance.
  • Supervise Support Professionals and ensure service execution for Financial Advisors.
  • Partner with HR on performance reviews, onboarding and development.
  • Manage interview processes, onboarding and cross-training initiatives.
  • Oversee travel, expenses and budget tracking for the branch.
  • Facilitate communications with Market Sales, Risk teams and Home Office.
  • Identify process improvements to boost productivity and efficiencies.

Business Service Officers (BSO) are responsible for shaping the future of service by modernizing our client experience through an elevated standard of care. The Business Service Officer (BSO) will report directly to the Market Business Service Officer (MBSO) and is responsible for the supervision, management of Support Professionals and execution of all business and service functions within the assigned branches. Additional job responsibilities include facilitating communication and training for Service Professionals, partner with Market Sales and Risk teams to ensure execution in all aspects of the business and further support the MBSO with delivering on service initiatives.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESPeople Management and CommunicationLead the Branch in executing the organization’s strategic priorities by influencing and coaching behavioral change with a focus on consistency, quality, and compliance with Firm policies and proceduresLead, mentor, and supervise a team of Support and Service ProfessionalsPromote cross-training, learning, development and recognition of Service and Support Professionals within the marketFacilitate the interviewing, selection and onboarding of new hires, including newly recruited Financial Advisors and their Support ProfessionalsPartner with MBSO and Human Resources regarding all aspects of people management, including annual performance reviews, performance management and conflict resolutionMaintain strong relationships with key partners within the Branch, Market, Region and Home Office including participation in team meetings, regional and national callsConsistently conduct Support Professional one-on-one meetings for coaching opportunities, career goal setting, job related activities, firm opportunities and team building; this includes meeting with Advisor teams to address service needsManage and oversee Support Professionals coverage for Financial Advisors in the BranchIdentify Support Professional recognition opportunities within the market through sharing of best practices, success stories and achievementsPromote a branch culture that’s consistent with the Firm’s core values, including championing diversity and inclusionOperational OversightManages travel and entertainment expenses for Advisors as well as other firm programs to manage budget tracking and forecasting with adherence to Firm policiesFacilitate and manage resolution of client inquiries/requestsParticipate in national calls to lean about new platform changes, policy and procedure updates, share best practices and learn about other timely updatesIdentify and implement process improvements to ensure teams are maximizing productivity and driving efficienciesAdditional operational oversight may be requiredAdminister other duties as delegated by the Market Business Service OfficerEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLSEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree required or equivalent educationPrevious industry experienceActive Series 7 (GS), Series 9 and Series 10 (SU), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) requiredOther licenses as required for the role or by managementKnowledge/SkillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to prioritize and resolve complex needs and escalate as necessaryAbility to identify issues and trends in order to anticipate change and provide comprehensive solutions and remediesEvidence of strong leadership and talent development capabilitiesPrevious supervisory experience preferredExceptional organizational and time management skillsExceptional conflict resolution skillsAbility to manage relationships, motivate and lead groups of people at various levels throughout the marketKnowledge of Firm’s Risk & Compliance policiesAbility to think strategicallyReports toMarket Business Service OfficerDirect reports:Support ProfessionalsWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
