Job description

If you are customer focused, enjoy building relationships, and providing financial advice to your clients, then a role as a Business Relationship Manager is for you. As a Business Relationship Manager Senior (BRM) Deepening banker in Business Banking, you'll manage a portfolio of large, profitable business clients with annual revenue greater than approximately $5 million. Your focus will be on deposit acquisition, product deepening, client retention, growth, and gaining referrals to increase primary bank share.

As a Senior Deepening banker, you will provide a high-touch experience by building relationships and offering financial advice with a focus on client experience and risk management while deepening existing relationships and leveraging referrals to acquire new ones.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Manage, retain, and deepen a portfolio of approximately 80-100 business clients in the stable/mature stage with annual revenue over ~$5 million; provide business deposit and cash management solutions, and manage business credit opportunities up to approximately $15 million; support branch-based business bankers on sizeable credit deals as needed.
  2. Deliver an outstanding experience to Chase business clients by providing comprehensive, customized banking solutions tailored to their financial needs.
  3. Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management to identify, recommend, and promote solutions that serve the client and ensure portfolio profitability. Leverage knowledge of various businesses, industries, markets, and financial concepts, utilizing Chase resources to develop networks and prospects.
  4. Conduct regular in-person or virtual calls with clients, referrals, and centers of influence to cultivate long-term banking relationships.
  5. Understand the personal financial goals of business owners. Collaborate with Branch, Wealth Management, and Private Bank to deliver suitable personal financial solutions.
  6. Utilize knowledge of treasury products and partner with specialists to onboard clients seamlessly, ensuring end-to-end delivery of accounts and services. Follow up to determine additional solutions and enhance digital capabilities.
  7. Follow sound risk management protocols, adhere to control policies, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Business Banking Relationship Management or related business lending roles.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit and cash management products and business credit underwriting with commercial credit training.
  • Ability to anticipate client issues, own problems, and follow through on commitments.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and creative with sound judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing clients with revenue over 10 million dollars.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Deep knowledge of diverse business types, industries, markets, and economic concepts.
