As a Business Relationship Manager Senior (BRM) Deepening banker in Business Banking, you’ll manage a portfolio of large, profitable business clients with annual revenue greater than ~$5MM. Your focus will be on deposit acquisition, product deepening, client retention and growth, and gaining referrals to increase primary bank share. You will provide a high-touch experience by building relationships and offering financial advice, emphasizing client experience and risk management while deepening existing relationships and leveraging referrals to acquire new ones.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage, retain, and deepen a portfolio of approximately 80-100 business clients in the stable/mature stage with annual revenue greater than ~$5 million; provide business deposit and cash management solutions and manage business credit opportunities up to approximately $15 million; support branch-based business bankers on sizeable credit deals as needed.
- Deliver an outstanding experience to Chase business clients by providing comprehensive, customized banking solutions tailored to their financial needs.
- Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management to identify, recommend, and promote solutions that serve the client and ensure portfolio profitability. Leverage knowledge of various businesses, industries, markets, financial concepts, and marketing techniques, utilizing Chase resources to develop networks and prospects.
- Conduct regular in-person/virtual calls with existing clients, referrals, and centers of influence at their businesses to cultivate long-term, primary banking relationships.
- Understand the personal financial goals and needs of business owners. Collaborate with Branch, Wealth Management, and Private Bank to deliver suitable personal financial solutions.
- Utilize knowledge of treasury products and partner with specialists to onboard clients seamlessly, ensuring end-to-end delivery of accounts and services; follow up post-account opening to explore additional solutions and digital capabilities.
- Adhere to sound risk management protocols, control policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Banking Relationship Management or related business lending roles.
- Strong knowledge of deposit, cash management, and business credit underwriting, with commercial credit training. Ability to offer tailored solutions, monitor market trends, and present innovative options.
- Ability to anticipate client issues, own problems, and follow through on commitments.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills at all levels, with the ability to influence and leverage technology for effective client interactions.
- Strong organizational skills to manage priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, with sound judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Balance client needs with associated risks and the firm’s interests.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years managing clients with >$10MM revenue.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Deep knowledge of diverse business types, industries, markets, and financial concepts.
