Job summary

Wolfspeed, a leader in silicon carbide and advanced materials, is seeking a Business Quality Engineer. This role supports quality processes, prepares documentation for PCNs, and collaborates with Operations and Quality teams to track, maintain, and report in the Wolfspeed Quality Management System.

Located at Wolfspeed manufacturing sites including Durham, NC; Marcy, NY; and Fayetteville, AK, the candidate will coordinate with multiple departments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or technical field; 0–3 years experience, OR an associate’s degree with 5+ years experience.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience in semiconductor/electronics or regulated manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders to draft documentation for Product Change Notifications (PCNs).
• Track and report status of open PCNs to ensure timely customer notification.
• Review and organize Customer Specific Requirements into SOPs for production lines.

Here’s The Gist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Business Quality Engineer. This role can be filled at any of the Wolfspeed manufacturing locations, Durham, NC; Marcy, NY; Fayetteville, AK. This person will be responsible for preparing and organizing documentation to support our quality business processes. To be successful in this role, the person will collaborate with internal teams within Quality and Operations to track, maintain, and report on those processes within the Wolfspeed Quality Management System.

The Day-to-Day

• Consult with process stakeholders, such as Operations, Quality, Sales, and Project Management, to align and draft documentation related to Product Change Notifications (PCNs) that will be delivered to our customers.
• Track and report on status of all open PCNs to ensure customers are notified timely, and responses are recorded accurately to enable implementation.
• Help review, map, and organize Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) into internal standard operating procedures to ensure compliance across production lines.
• Support PPAP Compilation by collecting, analyzing, and collating quality data packages (including FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, and capability studies) for customer submission.
• Coordinate review and execution of customer survey requests.
• Assist with Product Compliance requests and submissions, both internally and externally, collecting and reviewing supplier data to determine compliance status and reporting to customers.
• Participate on teams as assigned to support continuous improvement activities of our quality processes.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications)

• BS in Engineering or Technical field of study with 0-3 years of experience OR an associate’s degree in quality, Business Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related technical field with 5+ years’ experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or regulated manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices. Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO9001 strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of quality core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC) is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and project management skills with a keen focus on attention to detail.
• Works independently, self-motivated, takes ownership and accountability for process deadlines.
• Ability to work in large, complex, global environment, in a fast-paced environment, and remains flexible to support changing priorities.
