The role requires strong leadership, extensive QA experience in engineering, and fluency in English, with exposure to Lean Six Sigma and international standards such as ISO 9001, IEEE, or IEC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years in aQuality Management role within an engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience in electro-mechanical industries with QA responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish control mechanisms and ensure adherence to engineering processes.
  • Support design tools development and improve quality via non-conformances and QC notices.
  • Support DFMEA development and apply related training.
  • Identify critical to quality engineering deliverables.
  • Enhance review culture, processes and methods.
  • Ensure verification and validation practices are effective across tests and inspections.
  • Ensure processes are fit for purpose and followed by all units in the product line.
  • Promote internal audits and support internal/external audits.

Job Description

Within the North American Hub in the Transformers Business Unit, we have a vast product portfolio consisting of Power, Distribution, Dry transformers, alongside components such as bushings and tap changers. For our Engineering function, we are looking for an Engineering Quality Specialist, who will be accountable to thoroughly drive quality excellence within the function across Hub North America. As Engineering Quality Specialist, you will report directly to the Hub North America Engineering Managers and will be located in either one of the production facilities or one of the HUB offices;

Responsibilities
  • You establish control mechanisms, such as checkpoints, along with Engineering processes and secure adherence (evaluation of deliverables, process outputs and throughputs)
  • You support the development of design tools and continuous improvement ideas through the evaluation of Non-Conformances and Quality Notifications
  • You support the thorough development of DFMEA (training and practical application)
  • You help identify of critical to Quality Engineering deliverables
  • You enhance the review culture, processes and methods
  • You ensure Verification and Validation practices are effective (e.g. Quality Inspection Cards, Envelope of Confidence, test results, etc.)
  • You assure Engineering processes are fit for purpose (i.e. deliver the expected output) and secure they are adhered to by all units comprehended in that particular Product Line
  • You promote internal functional assessments and support internal and external audits Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Background / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or correlated relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated strong drive and leadership in a Quality Management position in an Engineering environment, for a minimum of 5 years
  • A previous hands-on experience in an electro-mechanical or related industry on a role as Quality Engineer or Specialist
  • Expertise on the delivery of effective and accurate problem solving with solid Root Cause Analysis using different methodologies
  • Strong exposure to processes and methods such as Lean 6 Sigma, etc. and tools such as, Ishikawa, FTA, FMEA, APQP, QFD, etc.
  • Conversational with Quality and Engineering international standards such as, but not limited to, ISO 9001, IEEE or IEC
  • Excellent interpersonal & multi-cultural as well as good soft skills (communication, negotiation & influencing), networker, business savvy, result and action oriented, resilient, with fluency in English. Local language skills are a plus
