Job summary

Republic Indemnity Company of America is seeking a Business Process Analyst to map underwriting and operational workflows, identify bottlenecks, and develop process improvement recommendations. The role emphasizes data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement for local candidates in Woodland Hills, CA, with possibilities for fully remote work for others, and requires a bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, CS, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally, a minimum of 3 years of Business Process improvement experience; Insurance experience preferred.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional process improvement designation (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessments of existing business processes and interdependences with policies and procedures.
• Assists with developing new processes to meet business objectives.
• Uses data-driven analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to develop actionable improvement plans.
• Leverages system functionality to support business objectives and ERP/BI tooling.
• Establishes KPIs to measure process effectiveness and tracks progress.
• Supports change management and training during process transitions.

Republic Indemnity is hiring a Business Process Analyst to focus on mapping underwriting and operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks, evaluating automation and AI opportunities, developing process improvement recommendations, and supporting implementation and adoption efforts. Employees are expected to maintain a meaningful on-site presence to support collaboration, relationship building, and business success. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Participates in conducting assessments of existing business processes and interdependences with business polices, and procedures.
• Assists with developing new processes as required to meet business objectives.
• Utilizes data-driven analysis to assist in identifying inefficiencies, sub-optimal customer/user experience, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
• Assists with aligning new business processes with existing ones to ensure scalability.
• Conducts testing of business process designs to assist with calibrating accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborates with business stakeholders to assist with developing actionable improvement plans.
• Leverages system functionality to support business objectives.
• Assists with establishing key performance indicators to measure business process effectiveness.
• Tracks and reports on progress.
• Addresses any resistance to change and assists with coordinating change management including training/support during process transitions.
• Assists with facilitating the adoption of new business policies and processes across the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of Business Process improvement experience. Prior Insurance experience preferred. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional process improvement designation preferred, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma.

Scope of Job/Qualifications

• Develops proficiency in process mapping, data analysis, and project management.
• Responsible for straightforward process analysis, design and simulation, requiring a moderate degree of creativity and latitude.
• Works to assist with small projects or low to moderately complex projects.
• Develops knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and benchmarks and assists with incorporating relevant insights into process improvement initiatives.
• Requires a foundational understanding of the organization's business and technology operations.
• Foundational analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze data to drive decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workers' compensation underwriting or insurance operations experience
• Business process improvement and process mapping expertise
• Familiarity with AI, automation, and self-service initiatives
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
