What will you do?

As a Business Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational efficiency across finance, business, and executive operations. You will work cross-functionally to manage invoicing, vendor relationships, recruiting processes, and operational systems. This is a highly visible role that requires exceptional organization, problem-solving, and execution skills to support the company's rapid growth.

  • Finance Operations: Oversee invoicing, expenses, financial operations, and vendor payments (not accounting or bookkeeping).
  • Business Operations: Manage company insurance, vendor contracts, operational workflows, and system integrations.
  • Executive Operations: Support recruiting, people operations, OKRs, and internal systems to optimize company growth and efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Improve internal tools and workflows to increase automation and efficiency across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, finance, HR, and engineering to align operations with company goals.
  • Scalability & Compliance: Ensure operational frameworks are scalable, structured, and compliant as the company grows.
  • Tactical Execution & Strategy: A mix of hands-on tasks and high-level decision-making to drive efficiency across departments.
What do you need?
  • 5+ years of experience in an operational or highly cross-functional role.
  • Early-stage startup experience (Seed - Series B, <100 people) at a VC-funded company.
  • Strong financial operations experience comfortable overseeing invoicing, expenses, and financial tools (but not full accounting).
  • Process-driven & highly organized: Able to implement and optimize internal operational systems.
  • Analytical & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with configuring tools, integrations, and workflows to automate operations.
  • Strong Communication: Highly responsive, clear, and concise in written and verbal communication.
  • Hands-On Mentality: Willing to take on both strategic planning and non-glamorous operational tasks.
Must Have
  • Experience in finance, business, and executive operations.
  • Highly structured and process-oriented: Ability to manage multiple operational areas effectively.
  • Experience With QuickBooks (preferred).
  • Ability to work in-office M/W/F in Redwood City.
  • References from prior managers at VC-funded startups within the last 5 years.
Strongly Preferred (Positives)
  • Experience implementing and managing QuickBooks.
  • Proven ability to scale business operations in a growing startup.
  • Experience streamlining operational processes using technology.
