Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in business or commercial operations.
  • Experience governing cross‑functional cadence and action tracking.
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross‑functional governance cadences and resolve escalations with recommended paths forward.
  • Develop and improve commercial operations processes and workflows for front‑ and mid‑office execution.
  • Serve as day‑to‑day contact for RMA/cancellation requests, contract review routing, and exception approvals.

We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our AFL Connectivity team at our Dallas Business Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.

The Business Operations Manager drives operational execution and process governance in support of commercial operations within the business unit. This role serves as a central coordination point across functions, facilitating alignment, enabling escalation, and ensuring Business Operations owned processes are well governed and continuously improving. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of driving operational improvements, building scalable processes, and delivering measurable results in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Responsibilities
Cross‑Functional Execution
  • Facilitate cross‑functional governance cadences, distribute decision summaries, and escalate unresolved issues with a recommended path forward.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of commercial operations processes and workflows that enable front‑and mid‑office execution.
  • Serve as the day‑to‑day point of contact for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)/cancellation requests, contract review routing, and exception approvals, ensuring timely resolution within established SLAs.
Process & Systems Ownership
  • Partner on enabling systems to ensure they support process requirements and business agility.
  • Support governance and compliance across commercial operations ensuring processes, documentation, and audit requirements are maintained and met.
  • Administer and maintain Business Ops systems and trackers to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and day‑to‑day usability across the team.
Scalability & Change Management
  • Build and maintain standardized, scalable operational processes that include documentation, training, and continuous improvement programs.
Operating Approach
  • Builds trust and alignment across functions through influence without authority.
  • Applies structured thinking to organize complexity into clear frameworks and actionable plans.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and directly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drives measurable results by translating process and operational improvements within their function into trackable KPI outcomes and holding themselves accountable to progress.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, commercial operations, or a related field.
  • Experience facilitating governance cadences, tracking action items, and driving cross‑functional alignment.
  • Strong project management skills — ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Optical networking or telecommunications product/industry/technical acumen
  • Familiarity with IBP, S&OP, or demand planning processes
  • Exposure to process automation or CPQ platforms.
