Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to act as an internal operations consultant. You will evaluate, document, redesign, and implement processes across the business, supporting senior leadership on special projects and requirements gathering.

The ideal candidate will have a few years of project-oriented experience, be a self-starter, and capable of analyzing abstract problems to implement effective solutions for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in an analytical field such as Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, CS or similar.
• 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Advanced expertise in Excel or intermediate Excel with at least one programming language.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion) and data visualization/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate opportunities for improvement and define best practices across personnel, systems, and processes.
• Document existing practices and training materials; propose optimizations and present solutions to stakeholders.
• Conduct data analysis to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Evaluate, enhance, and troubleshoot business tools, reports, and system-based processes.

Summary The Business Operations Analyst acts as an internal business operations consultant, evaluating, documenting, redesigning and implementing processes and methodologies across the business in areas of need. Additional responsibilities include support of senior leadership on special projects where necessary, particularly in requirements gathering and gap analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience in a collaborative, project-oriented environment, demonstrating success in independently defining and completing deliverables by timelines and in support of broader strategic objectives. Candidate should be a “self-starter” and creative enough to investigate and analyze abstract problems to determine and implement solutions that effectively meet stakeholder needs.

This position plays an important role in meeting our continued improvement objectives and requires a cross functional skillset to be effective.

Qualifications

• Required
• BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or similar analytical degree
• 1-3 years of relevant professional experienceAdvanced expertise in Microsoft Excel or, intermediate capability in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in at least one programming language
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Customer facing experience and cross-functional interaction
• Ability to work with other professionals, within and outside of the company in a professional and respectful manner
• Demonstrated ability with developing and managing project plans, deliverables, and budgets
• Preferred
• Experience in defense industry or consulting background
• Experience working with ERP systems, strong preference for Oracle Fusion
• Experience utilizing data visualization/reporting tools to develop reports and run analysis, (OTBI, PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
• Familiarity with debugging in general-purpose programming languages and/or experience with database querying methodologies
• Familiarity with developing accurate cost calculations and estimates
• Strong financial literacy, particularly on spreadsheet/software-based models
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365
• Familiarity with User Experience and/or User Interface design concepts
• Familiarity with Scheduling/Planning software and tools (Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.)
