Riverview Behavioral Health in Texarkana, Arkansas, is seeking an Insurance Verification and Billing Clerk responsible for accurate documentation of benefits, patient demographics, and billing data. The role includes financial counseling, collecting out-of-pocket costs, and processing assistance requests/adjustments within the patient accounting system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three or more years' experience in related field required.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Commercial Insurance and Medicare/Medicaid required.

Responsabilités

• Auditing the admission packets and verification of benefits along with all patient demographic information in the patient accounting system.
• Financial counseling of patients and/or guarantors and collecting any out of pocket (deductibles, copays, exhausted days, etc). Provide information to the patient and/or guarantors regarding their benefits and financial obligations.
• Complete financial disclosure paperwork for patients that request assistance including verifying income and expenses.
• Complete adjustment forms for any charity or administrative adjustments for approval.
• Complete promissory notes for patients that request payment arrangements.
• Update daily the upfront collection log, charity log, and admin adjustment log. Review with BOD on a weekly basis.
• Gather and interpret data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.

Overview

Responsible for accurate, timely and complete documentation regarding insurance verification, billing and collections.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Riverview is the premier psychiatric center in Texarkana, Arkansas, where children, adolescents, and adults can receive comprehensive inpatient help for the mental health challenges that have disrupted their lives. We are a 62-bed psychiatric hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 11-17) who are suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues.

Riverview Behavioral Health is part of the Acadia Healthcare system, a provider of addiction, behavioral and mental health treatment facilities in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
