The Medical Education Business Manager for the Springfield campus provides dedicated, on‑site leadership and coordination for the Springfield medical education campus. The manager ensures that administrative, operational, and strategic functions are effectively aligned to support learners, faculty, and programs. Responsibilities include centralizing oversight of key business functions—human resources, finance, space planning & operations, staff supervision, and contracts—to promote consistency, compliance, and efficiency while advancing the School of Medicine’s educational mission and accreditation requirements at the Springfield site.

Human Resources (30%)
  • Oversee recruitment, classification, evaluation, and development of professional and support staff to ensure operational alignment and equity across campuses.
  • Provide strategic guidance on performance management, workload distribution and remote work eligibility in compliance with university HR policies.
  • Cultivate a positive and accountable workplace culture through transparent communication, recognition, and staff engagement initiatives.
Finance (30%)
  • Manage operating budget including salary allocations and departmental expenditures.
  • Develop financial models to support leadership decision‑making for future planning.
  • Ensure fiscal accountability through forecasting, internal controls, and coordination with university finance offices and auditors.
Space Planning & Operations (15%)
  • Strategically plan space utilization across academic facilities, balancing instructional, administrative, and student needs.
  • Coordinate relocation and renovation projects to support program and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee operational logistics, building access, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and compliant use of shared facilities.
Staff Supervision (15%)
  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision and workload prioritization across administrative staff.
  • Ensure efficient operations through coordination, guidance, and process oversight.
  • Support development and accountability through regular feedback and performance management.
Contracts (10%)
  • Manage contract development and renewals for clinical preceptors, service providers, and external partners in alignment with university policy and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and procurement offices to ensure timely execution of agreements and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Oversee purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and inventory management to support educational and clinical operations.
Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience that provides comparable knowledge and skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Progressive professional experience in administrative and operational roles with significant responsibility for day‑to‑day oversight of human resources and financial operations, including staff supervision, recruitment, employee relations, budgeting, expenditure monitoring, financial reporting, and policy implementation. Demonstrated ability to manage complex administrative functions, support strategic initiatives, and apply strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills to achieve organizational goals in higher education, healthcare, or similar professional environments.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $61,000 – $85,000 annually
Grade: GGS – 011
