Job summary

Lake City Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Business Manager to lead the district's financial operations in Lake City, MN. You will oversee budgeting, financial reporting, payroll and benefits, and annual audits, reporting directly to the Superintendent.

Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting with UFARS knowledge and MASBO certification (or willingness to certify) and has proven budgeting and audit oversight experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with school finance focus preferred.
• Knowledge of UFARS accounting and MASBO certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with budgeting, audits, and payroll/benefits oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, payroll and benefits.
• Manage annual audits and ensure resources support district goals.
• Report to the Superintendent and coordinate with district leadership.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, you will oversee budgeting, financial reporting, payroll and benefits, and annual audits, ensuring our resources directly support our mission to Educate, Empower, and Excel.

What You Bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (school finance or fund accounting preferred)

Knowledge of UFARS accounting and MASBO certification (or willingness to become certified)

Proven experience in budgeting, audit preparation, and payroll/benefits oversight

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
