Job summary

UNC Health Care System in Chapel Hill is seeking a finance professional to provide financial and budgetary support for a clinical department. The role includes materials management, financial analysis, report management, and supervision of business office staff.

The position is full time at 40 hours per week with a hybrid work schedule. Salary ranges from $35.87 to $51.57 per hour, with offers determined by experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in business, financial analysis or materials management
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing or related field

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements and maintains systems and processes in support of finance and administration.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines. Establishes and reviews policies and procedures related to the Perioperative Surgical Support Services.
• Provides direction and oversight to OR charge posting team. Ensures staff is appropriately trained and that OR charges are posted timely by month-end.
• Partners with Revenue Cycle to identify opportunities for revenue cycle enhancement and denial prevention.
• Responsible for Human Resources functions of staff which include recruiting/hiring, conducting performance evaluations, training and development, and counseling/disciplinary action.
• Responsible for oversight of local Periop Surgical Value Analysis Committee. Includes iterative enhancements of process, education and support to clinical teams. Includes building and maintaining automated systems when appropriate and tracking efficiency.
• Responsible for supporting perioperative financial management, including budget development, expense analysis, capital planning, and identification of opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
• Oversees vendor relationships and compliance, contract monitoring, procurement activities, and business processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals, service expectations, and financial stewardship.
• Promotes a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous learning, and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

This includes serving as a liaison between operational leaders, System Supply Chain, and other entities as related to supply and equipment contracts/management.

Responsible for supporting perioperative financial management, including budget development, expense analysis, capital planning, and identification of opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction. This includes but is not limited to developing business cases, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
8. Oversees vendor relationships and compliance, contract monitoring, procurement activities, and business processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals, service expectations, and financial stewardship.
9. Promotes a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous learning, and proactive problem solving. Anticipates operational needs while ensuring solutions are aligned with stakeholder priorities and organizational objectives.
