About the Role

We're looking for a Business Litigation Associate Attorney who can handle matters independently, thinks strategically, and brings a client-first mindset to every interaction.

This role is 100% remote , outside of required court appearances, and is ideal for someone who wants autonomy, minimal office chatter, and a deep focus on practicing law at a high level.

110,000 – $160,000 depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity

• No billable hour requirement
• Minimal meetings – just a quick daily check-in, weekly case review, and a monthly virtual team lunch
• Flexible working hours (our core hours are 9 : 30 am – 5 : 30 pm, but we're results-focused, not clock-focused)

What You'll Do

• Handle business litigation cases with a high level of independence and strategic oversight
• Provide responsive, thoughtful legal counsel that reflects the client's unique goals
• Draft and review legal documents (contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, settlements)
• Conduct legal research and represent clients in court hearings and proceedings
• Proactively manage deadlines and identify potential issues before they become problems
• Collaborate with our team in an environment built on trust, shared ownership, and constant improvement

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Virginia (DC and / or Maryland a plus)
• 3–5 years of litigation experience (ideally at a mid-sized or large firm)
• Experience handling litigation matters independently, from pleadings to resolution
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Familiar with tech tools like Zoom, Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint), Adobe, and Clio
• Must live in the DMV area and be willing to travel for court appearances and depositions as needed
